As I prepare to head to Montana for a Christmas Vacation, and this year winds to a close I feel the need to reflect on the past year and put those thoughts into words.

This year has been a tumultuous roller-coaster ride for everyone – with soaring (and now falling) gas prices, a contentuous political battle, and a crashing economy. 2008 was equally tumultuous for me – seeing myself laid off from a job I loved after 11 years and now starting up my own consulting business in the wake of the reality that jobs are becoming more scarce by the day.

Yet I have hope and I see boundless opportunities in the future. It’s that hope that gets me out of bed every day and helps me to work on furthering my business ventures. I think 2009 may be difficult but I enjoy a good challange. At this stage in my career the possibilities are exciting and will help keep me going.

Here is wishing everyone Happy Holidays and a Happy New Year. I’ll be back to blog again in 2009.
